Licensure

Introduction

This website is designed to help our Seekonk Public Schools DESE certified staff prepare for state relicensure. As a friendly reminder, it is the educator's responsibility to maintain an active MA DESE license during employment. This website serves as a tool to help you with this process; however, DESE (not the district) has full authority over educator licensure.

Do you have a specific question about your DESE Educator license? Fill out the form to the right with as much information as possible and we will try to answer your questions or guide you in the right direction.

DESE Licensure Requirement Tool

The type of license for which you should apply depends upon your educational background, experience, license(s) already held, whether you have taken and passed all required Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL), whether you have completed any required performance assessments (ex. PAL), and whether you hold the Sheltered English Immersion Endorsements (SEI) (if applicable). If you have questions about the requirements for a specific license, please click the link below:

DESE Licensure Office

The Office of Teaching and Learning is happy to help guide educators in the right direction when it comes to their educational licensure. However, many licensure questions often include complex factors specific to an individual educator. Specific questions about licensure requirements, including relicensure, should be directed to the DESE Licensure Office.
